Summary of Application

I have recently transitioned into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to continue competing and developing my skillset while awaiting fights. In my first year of grappling, I have already competed in five competitions, including one in Thailand. This reflects both my commitment and my willingness to step outside of my comfort zone in pursuit of growth.

Funding support would make a significant difference in allowing me to continue training at this level, cover competition fees, and access the resources required to perform at my best. It would relieve some of the financial pressure that comes with maintaining such a high training volume and enable me to focus fully on progression and competition. I’ve also started personal training to empower women and also support my goals. I really love helping and developing women.

I am fully committed to my development as a martial artist and to representing the sport with dedication and professionalism. Any support would play a crucial role in helping me continue this journey and achieve my competitive goals.

Summary of Application

I’m a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and I’m applying for help to enter a competition in Paris. I have been competing around the UK this year as well as Serbia in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu European trials back in Feb. I’m working as hard as I possibly can within my job to fund my travels to compete and pursue my goals and dream in Jiu-Jitsu. I’ve recently beaten a high level black belt in comp earlier this month in Cardiff, Wales. I know I can keep testing myself and getting better. However, I do need some support with costs so I can focus on this, and take a step back from my full time job and give myself the best possible chance. I’m already achieving a high level in comp and I feel like I could really take this to the next level with some more time to dedicate and finances to compete. I live independently and have never had the luxury of external family support with finances. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated and mean more than you know.

Funding will help with training costs and help get me to Las Vegas, USA to compete at the IBJJF World Master jiu jitsu tournament. Flights, accommodation, car hire and training fees while I’m there adds up quickly so would help offset some of those costs while I train to get a world title under my belt. What I learn training and competing there will help me coach the women in the classes and open mats I run in Australia. I have had a few people message me after last years run say they want to go and strive to compete because they’ve seen me do it and I would love to keep that going.

Summary of Application

The only suitable high-level coaching available to help me progress is based in London, meaning I have to travel regularly for training sessions. I train three times a week, and transport alone costs around £25 for a return ticket each session using the high-speed train service. In addition to this, I pay approximately £80 per month for coaching and £5 track entry fees per session.

These costs add up very quickly, and without financial support I may struggle to continue training consistently this season. Receiving this funding would allow me to continue accessing the coaching and facilities I need to develop as an athlete and compete at my best.

My goal this season is to continue improving and work towards qualifying for the British Championships. I am fully committed to my athletics journey and work extremely hard to balance university, employment, and training. Any support would make a huge difference and help relieve the financial pressure that currently affects my ability to train consistently.

Summary of Application

I am applying for funding to help me prioritise training and push towards bigger competitions. This year I am hoping to achieve the Commonwealth Games Heptathlon standard, medal at the England National championships and medal at the British University Championships, which will hopefully set me up well to compete at the World University games in 2027. I have previously competed for Great Britain in heptathlon and I have also captained an England team indoors. I am currently balancing training with my third year of university and a part time job. This can take time away from training and recovering properly which may impact my performance long term, going into the competition season I will have to work less to prioritise my performance but this will make covering competition cost and travel challenging. Any funding I receive will firstly go towards covering my coaching fees, then travel to competitions abroad and finally to cover training camp over Easter that is used to prep for the outdoor season.
